About This Game
Generations after the apocalypse, humanity survives inside colossal Arks: floating societies sealed in steel. You are an Ark captain: you choose where to sail, who to trust, what to hunt, and what secrets to leave buried. The ocean is procedurally generated and full of ruins, routes, and threats, some human, some not.
The world has drowned, and humanity clings to survival in the crushing dark. In A Tale of Silent Depths, you are the Captain of an Ark: a massive, mobile submarine base that is your home, your fortress, and your last negotiating chip in a dead ocean.
Command your Ark across a sprawling open-ocean sandbox where pressure is just a number and safety is a lie. Explore the depths to harvest scarce resources, salvage forgotten wrecks, and dive into ancient ruins for relics and blueprints that can change the balance of power. Build and customize a fleet of drones, who will be your frontline and combat support, then deploy them in tense turn-based tactical battles against pirates, sea-creatures, rival Arks… and things that were never meant to surface.
This is a world that reacts to you. Trade to grow rich, raid to take what you need, uncover secrets no one wants found, or gamble everything chasing horrors beyond comprehension, because sometimes the deep doesn’t just hide monsters. Sometimes it remembers you. Every decision reshapes your resources, your relationships, and the risks waiting out in the dark.
In A Tale of Silent Depths, you’re free to be a trader, an archaeologist, a pirate... or something in between. The only rule is simple:
Survive.
Explore an enormous, procedurally generated open world
Chart a living ocean that changes every run: shifting routes, new points of interest, hidden wrecks, sunken ruins, and dangerous territories controlled by pirates and rival Arks. Push deeper for rarer salvage and stranger discoveries: the most valuable secrets are rarely found in safe waters.
Outthink your enemies in complex turn-based tactical battles
Every fight is a puzzle under pressure. Positioning, range, line-of-sight, terrain hazards, status effects, and limited resources all matter. Decide when to commit, when to retreat, and when to gamble. One bad engagement can cost drones, supplies... or the Ark itself.
Roguelike progression with endless build variety
No two captains survive the same way. Each run offers a wealth of abilities, upgrades, equipment, and synergies, letting you craft specialized drone squads, captain loadouts, and Ark systems. Experiment with high-risk glass cannons, tanky control builds, stealthy scavengers, support-focused fleets, or weird hybrid strategies that only make sense when the right parts align.
A dangerous bestiary with unique behaviors and skills
The Ocean isn’t just full of enemies: it’s full of problems . Predators that stalk you across zones, pirates that adapt to your tactics, and deep-sea anomalies that punish predictable play. Learn patterns, identify threats, counter their strengths, and exploit their weaknesses. Or become another silent wreck on the seafloor.
Rich lore woven into exploration and survival
Piece together the truth behind the flood and what came after through logs, relics, factions, ruins, and whispered rumors traded in the dark. The deeper you go, the more the world’s history (and its contradictions) surface. Not everything down there is dead, and not every truth is safe to uncover.
